Alfa Romeo has a long history in the Sports, Performance and Prestige car market. Many of their cars have gone on to be exceptional Classic Cars showing the true Automotive Heritage of this Italian Marque.
Alfa Romeo began in 1910 as A.L.F.A (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica di Automobil). In 1915, A.L.F.A. was taken over by Nicola Romeo and in 1918 production began of pre-war models under the name of Alfa Romeo.
The first Alfa Romeo was a large touring car called the G1 in 1920. In the following years, Alfa Romeo produced various models ranging from the 44bhp 6C1500 to the 93bhp 1900 in the 50's.
In 1972 Alfa Romeo produced the revolutionary Alfasud and Alfetta models. The Alfasud was the company's first front wheel drive car whilst the Alfetta had a rear mounted transaxle containing clutch, gearbox and differential.
In recent years, Alfa Romeo has had success with the 156 and 147 models. The GTV, Spider and GT continue to spearhead Alfa commitment to producing cars proud enough to carry the badge.
