This is an extremely rare 1935 Alvis Firebird Special. The car started life as a saloon but was burnt out in the sixties. The previous owner bought the car as a rolling chassis and restored the mechanical components, built an aluminium body for her and got the car driving again. I would say the car is ideal for a bit of summer fun or alternatively as a basis for a professional special. The original Alvis engine was rebuilt but then blew a big end and the current engine fitted is an 1800cc Morris unit. he original engine is with the car to retain originality and for the next owner to rebuild. The body is a home made job in aluminium over an ash frame, hand painted and perfectly adequate for a special. The car is currently taxed and mot'd and drives extremely well. This is very cheap summer vintage motoring.
